Jessica Paxton

Graduate Student

Jessica is a second year graduate student specializing in Clinical Neuropsychology and Aging. She works with Dr. Deanna Barch and Dr. Todd Braver in the CCP lab and Dr. Martha Storandt in the Aging and Development lab. Her research interests focus on cognitive abilities mediated by the prefrontal cortex in "healthy" older adults as well as individuals suffering from dementia. She is currently most interested in research on cognitive abilities such as working memory, strategy use, and context processing as well as mechanisms that may lead to improved cognitive performance in older adults. She is currently working on an fMRI study investigating context processing abilities and the effect of strategy training in healthy older adults. Previous work has focused on neuropsychological performance in patients with Alzheimer's disease.
